Come the month of January Sandwich and the entire Cape still have much to offer. This January start off the new 2015 year right with enjoying Sandwich’s very own First Night celebration. There will be plenty of activities to keep you busy and intrigued throughout the night. The evening will start with music and dance performances at your venue of choice up until 6 pm. Ice sculptures will be on display at venues one, four, five and ten. Mural artists will also be included at venue five for all to enjoy. After you’ve enjoyed the talent you can watch the wonderful parade and finish out the night with dining right here at the Belfry Inn and Bistro!
Stop in at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center 744 West Main Street, Hyannis, on January 1st to see the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra for their annual New Year’s Day bash starting at 3 p.m. They are performing with guests like Peter Schickele and other vocalists, this is one New Year’s Day party you don’t want to miss.
With all the excitement about the new year don’t forget about all the fantastic local shops that do stay open throughout the month of January! Right here in Sandwich we have the Heart of Stone located at 130 Rt 6A and also Painted Daisies at 679 Rt. 6A both featuring beautiful Cape Cod themed jewelry as well as must have home decor and other accessories. You can also go to the Sandwich flea market on January 17th at the Henry T. Wing school cafeteria. For something out of town, venture over to Falmouth for Marine Biological Laboratory Falmouth Forum poetry reading by Rosanna Warren starting at 7:30pm. In Barnstable Friday, January 23, 2015 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM continue the gift of giving by donating blood at the Hyannis Community Blood drive.
January is a time of staying warm, so enjoy a cozy getaway in one of our rooms with whirlpool bathtubs to have a relaxing night in.
